La ratonera （en inglés， 'The Mousetrap'） es una obra de teatro perteneciente al subgénero de las novela policiales。 Fue escrita por Agatha Christie en 1952。 Se estrenó el 6 de octubre de 1952 en Londres con gran éxito。

Está dividida en dos actos， el primero dividido en dos escenas。 Toda la historia transcurre en la sala principal de la casa de hospedaje de Monkswell Manor， ubicada en las afueras de Londres。 Fue estrenada en los 50 con gran éxito y está ambientada en la década de los 40。

La historia consta de ocho personajes que quedan atrapados en la casa de huéspedes de Monkswell Manor， debido a la nieve， y que se ven envueltos en un reciente crimen ocurrido en Londres， ya sea como sospechosos o víctimas。

Al primer día de haber inaugurado la casa de huéspedes de Monkswell Manor， la recién trincada pareja Ralston， recibe a sus cinco primeros clientes， uno de los cuales llega inesperadamente。

A la mañana siguiente， llega el sargento Trotter， detective de la policía ， quien informa al grupo de que el asesino de una mujer en Culver Street， en Londres， se dirige a Monkswell Manor。 El asesino ha dejado la dirección y la canción de los tres ratones ciegos， insinuando que quedan dos por eliminar。 Debido a la nieve， los ocho personajes quedan atrapados en la casa， donde ocurre un segundo asesinato， del cual cada uno de los personajes parece ser sospechoso。

Se crea una trama de misterio y suspenso entre los personajes， quienes desconfían los unos de los otros。 Como indica la canción， queda un ratón por eliminar， por lo cual Trotter convence a todos de un plan para averiguar quién es el asesino y cuál es su próxima víctima。

Trotter idea un plan， que consiste en que todos repitieran lo que habían hecho， pero con otras posiciones。

Una obra de teatro muy entretenida y rápida。 Engancha y se lee de una sentada。 La resolución un poco rápida， pero eso no impide disfrutarla y adentrarte de lleno en la caza del asesino （ya te digo que es difícil que lo descubras）。

Es un libro bastante corto pero muy entretenido y fácil de leer。 A lo largo de la historia te haces bastantes suposiciones sobre quién podría ser el asesino y de alguna u otra manera， ignoras la opción que resulta más obvia。

It’s good i guess。。。 it’s not really the type of book I’d like but it has its moments where I really enjoyed it。The ending tho。。。You could have known the killer if you’d paid attention to details and stuff， but if you are like me and read school books just with a look， then the ending would have come as a total surprise。
